1. Wikipedia - An international Web-based free-content encyclopedia project. Very useful for finding preliminary information on a specific topic. It allows anybody to edit its articles, which may raise issues related to objectivity and accuracy, but also enables it to gather the most up-to-date information about an entry. Use with caution and be sure to include other supporting materials for your research. You may also add or edit articles which might be lacking in information.

2. Great Books and Classics - Here you will find links to classic works of religion, philosophy, politics, science, history and literature from both East and West, spanning nearly four thousand years of human history. Works are indexed alphabetically by Author or Title, and chronologically by Author (or work, if anonymous). There are also separate indexes for works included in various reading lists, and works which are available in languages other than English

http://www.sacred-texts.com/ -- my favorite site, great source for oriental primary texts and also philo of religion.

http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/ -- for those into Islam, good source of hadith and it has several translations of the qur'an by pickthall, ali etc.

http://www.questia.com/Index.jsp -- great source of e-books, it's not free though. costs around $20/mo but there's a 7 day free trial
